A venue can look beautiful when it is empty. The real challenge is showing what it feels like when people actually fill the space.
Emberhouse Media Group captured Buena Vista Ranch during its New Year’s Eve celebration, creating a cinematic showcase of the property during a real event rather than relying on staged venue imagery.
The resulting film gave Buena Vista Ranch a way to show prospective clients the energy, atmosphere, and versatility of the property when it is fully in use.
The Opportunity:
For an event venue, photographs of an empty space can only communicate so much.
Prospective clients want to imagine what their own wedding, party, or celebration could actually
feel like there.
Buena Vista Ranch’s New Year’s Eve event gave us the opportunity to capture that experience naturally—with guests arriving, spaces filled, lights on, music playing, and the property functioning exactly as it was designed to.
Our goal was to turn a single event into a marketing asset that could sell the experience of the venue long after the night was over.
Our Approach:
Rather than staging scenes specifically for the camera, Emberhouse
documented the event as it unfolded.
We focused on the moments and visual details that communicated the experience of being at Buena Vista Ranch: guests gathering, activity throughout the venue, architectural details, lighting, décor, and the overall energy of the celebration.
Wide establishing shots helped show the scale of the property and how its different spaces connected, while tighter cinematography focused on the people and details that gave the event its atmosphere.
Drone cinematography provided an additional perspective on the ranch, establishing the property within its larger rural setting and giving viewers a sense of scale that would be difficult to communicate from the ground alone.
Capturing the Experience:
The objective was not simply to document a New Year’s Eve party. It was to show what Buena Vista Ranch could become when an event came to life.
That distinction guided the way the film
was shot and edited.
Instead of creating a chronological event recap, the strongest moments were used to build a polished visual representation of the venue itself—showing prospective clients how the spaces looked, moved, and felt when occupied by real guests.
The celebration provided something staged marketing imagery could not: genuine interaction, movement, atmosphere, and scale.
Turning One Night Into a Long-Term Asset:
Events are temporary.
The content created around them does
not have to be.
By capturing the ranch during an active celebration, Buena Vista Ranch gained more than a record of its New Year’s Eve event. It gained a cinematic marketing piece that could continue showing future clients what an event at the property could look and feel like.
The final film transformed one night at the ranch into an evergreen
showcase of the venue in action.
