Buena Vista Turf Farm operates on a scale that is difficult to appreciate until you see the fields, equipment, and people behind the finished product.

Emberhouse Media Group approached Buena Vista Turf with an idea: create a cinematic brand story that could showcase the operation in a way traditional marketing imagery could not. The resulting film gave the business a polished visual story while demonstrating how cinematic production can elevate even the most operationally focused industries.

The Opportunity:

For most customers, sod is something they encounter only after it has been harvested, transported, and delivered.

We wanted to show everything behind it.

The goal of the film was to capture the size of the property, the machinery, the
movement of the operation, and the people responsible for bringing the final product
to market, turning an everyday product into a visual story about the business
that produces it.

Our Approach:

Emberhouse spent one production day at Buena Vista Turf Farm on September 12, 2025.

Because the farm remained operational throughout production, we worked around active equipment and daily operations rather than staging the facility specifically for the camera. This allowed us to capture the business as it actually functions.

Aerial cinematography played an important role in establishing the scale of the property. Drone footage revealed the size and geometry of the turf fields while ground-level cinematography brought viewers closer to the equipment, harvesting process, and people behind the operation.

Slow-motion photography was used throughout the film to emphasize movement, machinery, texture, and detail while giving the industrial agricultural environment a more cinematic visual language.

Protecting the Product on Screen:

For a turf producer, color isn't simply an aesthetic choice, the product itself is defined by it.

During post-production, particular attention was given to color grading the grass accurately while presenting the fields under the most favorable natural conditions possible. The goal was rich, healthy-looking turf without pushing the image into artificial or oversaturated greens.

The result maintained a polished cinematic look while keeping the product visually believable.

The Final Film:

Emberhouse delivered a completed cinematic brand story showcasing Buena Vista Turf Farm, its acreage, equipment, daily operations, and overall scale.

The project was produced from concept through final color by Emberhouse Media Group, with Forrest McBride and Adam Kolenberg handling production.
